Access to CEO only

  • Focus on support to the CEO as a personal advisor and coach.
  • Adopt a mentoring style where key issues can be debated and challenged in private before the CEO engages with the management team.
  • Ensure there is top level support from Group management to the timing, investment level, ambition and strategy.
  • Drive the pace of progress and ensure there is focus on the outcome, avoiding distractions.
  • Challenge the business to reach stretching objectives and act as a counter to objections coming up through the organisation as they arise.
  • Provide a sounding board with best practice advice from other mobile operations.

Approach 2
Access to management team

  • Become actively involved in the implementation with all members of the management team.
  • Strong support from CEO but rely on persuasion and well argued case to get things done rather than any executive authority.
  • Ensure there is top level support from Group management to the timing, investment level, ambition and strategy.
  • Asses management capabilities to implement an action plan and advise CEO on gaps and shortfalls.
  • Ensure top team have bought into an agreed course of action and that consistent detailed implementation plans exist in all areas.
  • Organise workshops to turn strategy into action at each level in the organisation.
  • Ensure metrics are in place to measure progress.
  • Establish a cross functional programme to manage actions cutting across multiple functional areas.
