Access to CEO only
- Focus on support to the CEO as a personal advisor and coach.
- Adopt a mentoring style where key issues can be debated and challenged in private before the CEO engages with the management team.
- Ensure there is top level support from Group management to the timing, investment level, ambition and strategy.
- Drive the pace of progress and ensure there is focus on the outcome, avoiding distractions.
- Challenge the business to reach stretching objectives and act as a counter to objections coming up through the organisation as they arise.
- Provide a sounding board with best practice advice from other mobile operations.
Approach 2
Access to management team
- Become actively involved in the implementation with all members of the management team.
- Strong support from CEO but rely on persuasion and well argued case to get things done rather than any executive authority.
- Ensure there is top level support from Group management to the timing, investment level, ambition and strategy.
- Asses management capabilities to implement an action plan and advise CEO on gaps and shortfalls.
- Ensure top team have bought into an agreed course of action and that consistent detailed implementation plans exist in all areas.
- Organise workshops to turn strategy into action at each level in the organisation.
- Ensure metrics are in place to measure progress.
- Establish a cross functional programme to manage actions cutting across multiple functional areas.
